In 1906, Lucien Millot created the plantation that produces the cacao found in this tablet in Andzavibe, Madagascar that today still bears his name and is now an organic certified plantation spanning around 600 hectares.
The Société Millot in partnership with fine couverture producer Valrhona employs almost 500 local People. Valrhona has had a relationship in Madagascar with Millot for over 30 years and is now a co-owner of the plantation.
This fine couverture has a very fruity flavour profile, with notes of citrus and a full bodied cacao finish.

Hi Jackington, It is indeed Valrhona chocolate. In order to turn the chocolate into to chocolate tablets that are easy to consume for the everyday consumer, we have to incur labour costs (Melting, tempering, pouring into moulds, cooling, unmoulding, packing), packaging costs, overheads such as electricity and rent and in the case of Ireland add 23% VAT on top at the end as well.
Not much left of that mark up when you deduct all that 😉
